Arrive Delhi. After clearing customs and immigration formalities you are met on arrival and transferred to your hotel.
Day 02: Delhi/Kathmandu:
You will return to the international airport to take your flight to Kathmandu. You will be met after clearing customs and immigrations and transferred to your hotel.
In the afternoon you will visit Pashupatinath
, a designated World Heritage site. Pashupatinath belongs to Shiva, in his peaceful form as the shepherd or lord of the beasts.
Day 3: Kathmandu:
Sightseeing today will take you to Swayambhunath
, the focal point of Buddhist worship in the valley. It is one of the largest and a prototype for others.
From here you drive down to the Durbar Square
where you take a walking tour. The oldest monument in the square dates back as far as 800 years.
This afternoon you are free to explore the busy and fascinating area around the Square known as "Thamel"
, it is a jumble of shops selling souvenirs, cafes and guesthouses.
Day 4: Kathmandu:
You start the day with a mountain flight to circle the Everest. If it is a clear day, you will have an astonishing view of the highest mountain in the world.
After breakfast you will visit Bhaktapur
, which is a charming town with an old world ambience.
You can have lunch in one of the charming cafes in the square.
Day 5: Kathmandu/Pokhara:
You will visit Pokhara today to get your first view of the Himalayan Mountains - The Annapurna Range, Daulagiri and Mansulu - all over 26,000 Ft.
You will fly into the valley and will be transferred to your Lodge
Day 6: Pokhara :
You will watch sunrise over the Annapurna range and the Machhapuchhare.
This afternoon you will go on a hike in the neighbouring area.
Day 7: Pokhara/Kathmandu:
You will return to Kathmandu today. In the evening you will return to the airport to take your international flight
Day 7: Pokhara/ Kathmandu/Varanasi:
You will return to Kathmandu today and connect through to Varanasi. On arrival you will have to once again clear Indian customs and immigration formalities.
One of the India's seven holy cities, Varanasi is the holiest of them all, and devout Hindus will visit Varanasi at least once in their lifetime. After lunch you will walk in the Old city
You will arrive at Assi Ghat in time to watch the evening "aarti" ceremony
, when priests perform a ritual to put the river gods to sleep and to ward off any evils.
Day 8: Varanasi/Khajuraho:
At sunrise you will once again take a boat down the river.
You return to the hotel for breakfast and later you may want to visit Sarnath. Sarnath which lies a short distance from the main city is the place where the Buddha gave his first sermon after gaining enlightenment
In the afternoon you will be transferred to the domestic airport and depart for Khajuraho.
You spend the afternoon exploring the temples built between 950 and 1050 AD.
Day 9: Khajuraho/Delhi :
Today you will take the flight to Delhi. Later in the evening you are transferred to the international airport for your onward flight.
