Enchanting Nepal

For a small landlocked Asian country, this Himalayan neighbour of India can be quite an enchanting destination for travellers. No matter what kind of a traveller you are – an adventure lover, a heritage buff or even a wildlife enthusiast – Nepal has something to offer. This 10 day/9 night journey showcases the cultural, scenic and natural wonders of this fascinating country.

Itinerary at a glance

Day 1 - 3: Kathmandu

Arrive in Kathmandu. After you clear Immigration and Customs, our Peirce & Leslie colleague will meet you in the arrival hall. He will escort you to your hotel and help you to check-in.

During your stay, you will visit Kathmandu’s main highlights – Kathmandu’s Durbar Square, Buddhist Stupa of Boudhanath, Pashupatinath Temple, Swayambhunath and Thamel. You will interact with the resident monks (subject to their availability) at Boudhanath and participate in the ‘puja’ (worship ritual) ceremony. Note: Non-Hindus are not allowed inside the temple. However, the sites surrounding the temple are very interesting.

You will also have the opportunity to take a Mountain flight for an ‘Everest Experience’. This hour-long flight offers panoramic views of the magnificent Himalayan peaks. Note: This experience is subject to the prevailing weather conditions.

If you like, you can also visit Patan and explore the Patan Durbar Square which is dotted with ancient palaces, temples and shrines that are noted for their exquisite carvings.

Day 4 & 5: Pokhara

You will take a flight to Pokhara.

Here, you will visit the International Mountain Museum which focuses on mountains (the mountains of Nepal in particular) and the history of mountaineering.

You will also drive to the dam at the end of Fewa Tal to walk up the forested hill of Raniban to visit the Shanti Stupa or Peace Pagoda. Later, you may like to take a cruise on the lake in one of the brightly painted doongas (boats). While on the boat at Fewa Lake, you can also visit Barahi Temple which is situated on a small island in the middle of Fewa Lake.

Day 6 & 7: Chitwan

You will take a flight to Bharatpur via Kathmandu. On arrival, you will drive to Chitwan (approximately 1 hour, excluding stops).

During your stay, you will be taken for a “game drives”, river safari and an elephant safari inside Chitwan National Park.

You will also have the opportunity to watch local dancers perform the intricate Tharu stick dance to the soulful beat of folk songs, next to a huge campfire.

Day 8 & 9: Dhulikhel

You will take a flight to Kathmandu and drive to Dhulikhel. En- route, you will visit the charming town of Bhaktapur which is a living representation of how the entire Kathmandu Valley looked during medieval times.

During your stay, you will trek to Namobuddha, a spectacular Buddhist monastery set against the mountains. Time permitting, you will participate in a prayer ceremony with the resident monks (subject to their availability).

You will also have the opportunity to participate in a range of activities offered by your resort:

Day 10: Depart Kathmandu

Today, you will be met by our colleague in the lobby of your hotel, and he will escort you to the airport in time to check-in for your homeward flight (details to be advised).
