Trekking in the Himalayas
A paradise for adventurer enthusiasts and trekkers, Nepal is renowned for its breathtaking landscapes, diverse terrain, and the world’s most magnificent mountains. While the Everest Base Camp trek remains one of the most sought-after journeys, there are a myriad of trekking trails (short and long) that you can opt for, that are equally spectacular and adventurous.
Itinerary at a glance
Day 1 & 2: Kathmandu
Arrive in Kathmandu. After you clear Immigration and Customs, our Peirce & Leslie colleague will meet you in the arrival hall. He will escort you to your hotel and help you to check-in.
During your stay, you will visit Kathmandu’s main highlights – Kathmandu’s Durbar Square, Kumari Ghar and the Buddhist Stupa of Boudhanath. You will interact with the resident monks (subject to their availability) at Boudhanath and participate in the ‘puja’ (worship ritual) ceremony. Note: Non-Hindus are not allowed inside the temple. However, the sites surrounding the temple are very interesting.

Day 3: Monjo
You will fly to Lukla and then then set off on your trek to Monjo (2,850 meters), a small village on the banks of the Dudh Kosi River (approximately 4.5 - 5 hours, excluding stops).

Day 4 & 5: Namche Bazaar
You will take a trek to Namche Bazaar (3,440 meters), one of the main stops on the trail up to Everest Base Camp (approximately 4 – 4.5 hours, excluding stops).
You will trek along the banks of the Dudh Kosi River and through Sagarmatha National Park, home to rare species like the snow leopard, musk deer and red panda. Note: The final stretch of the trek can get a little difficult as the climb is very steep.
During your stay, you will also hike to the Sherpa Museum (3,600 meters) which sheds light on the Sherpa culture through the ages, Sagarmatha National Park and the Everest Region.

Day 6: Khumjung
You will take a trek to Shangbouche Hill (3,900 meters) which provides stunning panoramic views of the Everest Region. You may like to stop and take photographs of the surrounding landscape at the ‘viewpoint’ on the summit.
You will then trek downhill to Khumjung (3, 790 meters), a small sherpa village nestled at the foot of the sacred mountain, Khumbi La.
During your stay, you will explore the main sights in the area. You will first visit Kumjung Monastery, home to a 300-year-old Yeti scalp carried by Sir Edmund Hillary across the globe.
You will then visit Sir Edmund Hillary School, the first of many educational institutions that Hillary built for the sherpas.

Day 7 & 8: Pangboche
You will take a trek to Pangboche (4, 150 meters), one of the highest permanently occupied villages in the region. You will trek through deep forested river valleys, small Sherpa villages and cultivated farmlands. Along the way, you will see spectacular views of the Himalayas and the Dudh Koshi and Bhote Koshi Rivers. Note: This trek lasts for about 3 – 3.5 hours.
During your stay, you will visit the Pangboche Monastery which claims to house a Yeti skull and hand.
You will also take a trek to Dablam Base Camp (4, 800 meters), a large grassland which offers captivating views of Mount Ama Dablam. You will carry a packed lunch with you. You will stay at the Base Camp and enjoy the views of the mountain before, returning to your lodge in Pangboche. Note: This trek lasts for about 2 – 2.5 hours.

Day 9: Dhulikhel
After a quick cup of tea/coffee early in the morning, you will be escorted to the airport in time for your private helicopter ride to Mount Everest. You will then fly to Hotel Everest View, one of the world’s highest located hotels for a sumptuous breakfast before, flying to Dhulikhel. Note: This experience is subject to the prevailing weather conditions.

Day 10: Dhulikhel – Kathmandu & Depart
Today, you will be met by our colleague in the lobby of your hotel, and he will escort you to the airport in time to check-in for your homeward flight (details to be advised).
