INITIAL DEPOSIT: Reservations will be confirmed against a non-refundable deposit. The amount will be determined at the time of finalizing the booking and will depend on the itinerary.
FINAL PAYMENT: Full payment must be made at least 60 days prior to arrival for FIT clients and 90 days prior to arrival for Groups.
EXCEPTION: For bookings during Pushkar (for 2024, the dates are 5th – 20th November) and the Festive Season (21st December – 05th January), final payments must be made at least 90 days prior to arrival.
PAYMENT BY CREDIT CARD: The client’s credit card will be charged in the local currency and will be converted by the client’s bank at the exchange rate applicable on the day the bank processes the charge. For this reason, if you use a credit card that is denominated in a foreign currency, there may be a minor variation in the U.S. Dollar price quoted and the actual rate processed on the client’s credit card.
IMPORTANT NOTE:
  • We do not charge a credit card fee.
  • For payments made via a Stripe link in the USA (used only for USD denominated quotes), your bank might charge a currency conversion fee if your card issuing bank is located outside the US. In addition, if you are opening the payment link from a location outside the US, you may be charged in a foreign currency, or a foreign exchange transaction fee may be charged by your bank. We strongly urge you to check with your credit card company whether they charge a foreign currency transaction fee and if so, how much it is.
  • For payments made via an HDFC Bank link in our India account (used for quotations in currencies other than USD), although we quote and invoice in Foreign Currency (USD / AUD / CAD / Euro / UK Pounds), all Indian credit card companies convert the invoice currency into Indian Rupees (INR) and then charge your credit card in INR. We therefore strongly urge you to check with your credit card company whether they charge a foreign currency transaction fee and if so, how much it is.
CANCELLATION POLICY: Should it become necessary to cancel an itinerary at any time after confirmation, the following cancellation fees will be levied:
FIT TRAVEL (01 – 05 persons)
  • Greater than 60 days prior to arrival: any non-refundable deposits already made.
  • 59 to 31 days prior to arrival: any non-refundable payments already made + 50% of the remaining cost of the trip.
  • Less than 30 days: full cost of the trip
  • Additionally, cancellation of game drives, air fare and train fares will be governed by the appropriate sections below.
  • Notwithstanding, there are exceptions to the cancellation policy for bookings during Pushkar and the Festive Season. Any amounts paid for these bookings are non- refundable and all final payments must be completed 90 days prior to arrival.
GROUP SIZE OF SIX AND MORE
  • Greater than 90 days prior to arrival: any non-refundable deposits already made. 89 to 61 days prior to arrival: any non-refundable payments already made + 50% of the remaining cost of the trip.
  • Less than 60 days: full cost of the trip.
  • Additionally, cancellation of game drives, air fare and train fares will be governed by the appropriate sections below.
  • Notwithstanding, there are exceptions to the cancellation policy for bookings during Pushkar and the Festive Season. Any amounts paid for these bookings are non-refundable and all final payments must be completed 90 days prior to arrival.
Note: The cancellation policy above is a generalization and may change from time to time – with prior intimation at the time of booking. Additionally, hotels and some services may have individual cancellation policies that will be mentioned separately when the status is sent.
In addition, any refunds will be made at the rate of exchange on the date of refund and after deducting any bank charges, credit card fees etc.
GAME DRIVES: Once booked, any changes or cancellation of game drives will result in a 100% penalty. Game drives need to be booked well in advance owing to limited availability.
AIR FARE: Internal air tickets issued have a $75 per coupon cancellation fee up to 15 days prior to travel. For cancellations less than 15 days prior to travel, there will be no refund. Domestic airlines do not permit ticket changes and flights have to be cancelled and re-booked at the prevailing fare.
In case an airline cancels a flight, they usually simply refund the fare and do not take the responsibility of re-booking passengers. In such an event, Peirce & Leslie will do its best to re-book clients or offer them alternative means of transport. Any expenses incurred on this account will be borne by the client.
TRAIN FARES: Cancellation of a train ticket will incur a service charge of $25 per ticket plus any cancellation charges levied by the railways.
INSURANCE AND VISAS: Baggage, personal effects, trip cancellation, health and accident insurance, and visas/special permits are the responsibility of the client. We strongly recommend taking travel insurance for your trip.
PRICE: A final tour price is given at the time of confirmation of the booking. All prices quoted are subject to change if the date of travel is changed. Additionally, any sudden changes in government taxes and levies will be borne by the traveler.
NOT INCLUDED: Not included in the price quoted are (if any), airport departure taxes, customs and immigration fees, excess baggage at airport, expenses of a personal nature such as laundry, telephone calls, room service, wine, liquor and meals and any other items not specifically included in the price quoted.
