Day 1: Delhi: Arrive in
Delhi. Upon arrival, you will be met by our
Peirce & Leslie colleague who will escort you to your hotel and help you to check-in.
Day 2: Delhi – Jodhpur – Jaisalmer: After breakfast, you will be escorted to the airport by our
Peirce & Leslie colleague in time to check-in for your flight to
Jodhpur.
On arrival in Jodhpur, you will be met by our colleague and escorted to your waiting vehicle for your drive to
Jaisalmer (approximately 05 hours, excluding stops).
On arrival in Jaisalmer, you will check-in to your hotel.
Day 3: Jaisalmer: After breakfast, you will visit the
Jaisalmer Fort, one of the most magnificent forts in Rajasthan. This will be followed by a visit to the
Gadi Sagar Lake.
Afterwards, you will take a walk through the
Old City and its exceptional
havelis, which lies outside the walls of the fort.
You will then return to your hotel.
In the evening, you will take a
jeep safari or camel safari to the sand dunes.
Day 4: Jaisalmer – Jodhpur: This morning after breakfast, you will drive to
Jodhpur (approximately 05 hours, excluding stops).
Upon arrival in Jodhpur, you will check-in to your hotel.
Day 5: Jodhpur: After breakfast, you will visit the historic
Mehrangarh Fort. Walking down from the fort you will stop at
Jaswant Thada, the graceful marble cenotaph.
Later, you may like to browse in the little shops of Sadar Bazaar in the old city before returning to your hotel.
Day 6: Jodhpur – Nimaj: This morning after breakfast, you will drive to
Nimaj (approximately 02 hours, excluding stops).
Upon arrival, you will check-in to your hotel.
Late in the evening, you can sit out at your hotel and watch the
sun go down the reservoir waters.
Day 7: Nimaj: In the morning, you may like to visit the village school and the camp's organic vegetable farm. You could also go bird watching or take a nature walk.
In the afternoon, you will visit one of the settlements. Accompanied by a member of a resident family, you will
walk in the surrounding farms and visit a charming village, where you will see typical rural sights such as the herders bringing home their animals at dusk.
Tonight, you will dine on a home cooked meal made from fresh produce grown organically on the surrounding farm lands.
Day 8: Nimaj – Jaipur: This morning after breakfast, you will drive to
Jaipur (approximately 05 hours, excluding stops).
Upon arrival in Jaipur, you will check-in to your hotel.
Day 9: Jaipur: After breakfast, you will visit the Fort-Palace at
Amber (a UNESCO World Heritage Site).
You will next drive about 30 minutes out of the city to a private farmhouse abutting the forest to interact with the farm’s resident elephants feeding them, washing and scrubbing them and strolling with them – all in the privacy of one of our exclusive wilderness venues. This will be followed by lunch.
Note: Peirce & Leslie is very particular that the elephants are well cared for and are not mistreated in any way so you needn’t worry on that score.
After lunch, you may stop to click pictures at the iconic
Hawa Mahal with its ornate pink façade. The afternoon tour will end with a specially designed
walk through the bazaars of the Old City.
You will then return to your hotel and the rest of the day will be at leisure.
Day 10: Jaipur: After breakfast, you will visit the sprawling
City Palace, which is a superb blend of the Rajput and Mughal styles of architecture. You will then enter the extraordinary
Jantar Mantar the astronomical observatory built by Raja Sawai Jai Singh II. The rest of the day will be at leisure for shopping activities.
Day 11: Jaipur – Ramathra: After breakfast, you will drive to
Ramathra (approximately 4 hours, excluding stops). On arrival in Ramathra, you will check-in to your hotel.
In the afternoon, you will go on a walking tour of Ramathra village, a small hamlet of farmers and herders.
Day 12: Ramathra: After breakfast, you will spend the entire morning volunteering at the village school,
Aganwadi, meaning “Courtyard shelter”, an initiative started by the government to combat child hunger and malnutrition. Later, you can
spend time with your host, learning a few Indian dishes or making Roti (Indian bread).
In the evening, you will take a
Camel-cart Ride through the villages and farmlands.
Day 13: Ramathra – Agra: After breakfast, you will drive to
Agra (approximately 5.5 hours, excluding stops). En-route, you will visit
Fatehpur Sikri which was built by the Mughal Emperor Akbar to honor the Saint Salim Chisti who foretold the birth of Akbar’s son and heir.
On arrival in Agra, you will check-in to your hotel.
Day 14: Agra: After breakfast, you will visit one of the most significant monuments of the city, the
Agra Fort.
You will then return to your hotel.
Late in the afternoon, you will visit the stunning
Taj Mahal, a mausoleum and a symbol of the enduring love of Emperor Shah Jahan for his favourite wife, Mumtaz Mahal, who died during childbirth in 1631.
Day 15: Agra – Delhi – Onward Destination: Today, you will have the option of visiting the Taj Mahal at sunrise. Alternatively, you could choose to lie in.
After lunch, you will drive to
Delhi`s International Airport (approximately 4.5 hours, excluding stops).
On arrival, you will be met by our
Peirce & Leslie colleague who will help you to check-in for your homeward bound flight.
